We were delighted to welcome ‘the Marie Kondo of org design’, Beatrice Hofmeyr, to this month’s ODA meeting.
Too often, restructuring efforts begin and end with an org chart. But as Beatrice reminded us, true organisational design goes beyond this. She shared compelling insights into why traditional restructuring efforts often fall short and [spoiler alert] – a lack of genuine co-design is a major culprit.
The session sparked thoughtful conversations about why co-design can feel so daunting for leaders. Together, we explored the assumptions, fears, and emotional undercurrents that can get in the way, and how human-centred leaders ultimately get the best outcomes.
Beatrice’s energy, warmth, and deep passion for all things org design, transformation, and change leadership was an absolute joy to experience. It was a refreshing and energising mid-week boost for our ODA community.
