CASE STUDY: Ethical Dilemmas in the Workplace

Both private and public sector organisations present situations from time to time, requiring difficult choices for the OD consultant (whether internal or external).  How do we stay true to our clients and maintain our own integrity without awful consequences?  Is there a framework to guide us? How can we determine if there is a right or wrong? Or is it always about shades of grey?

In this session a guest speaker will present a case study on a current ethical issue from their organisation, supported by some guidance and frameworks by Roz Holder. Our guest speaker is very experienced practitioner and holds a senior HR/OD role in her organisation - a statutory authority which has and is still experiencing significant ethical dilemmas.  Our guest speaker’s name is not published here for confidentiality reasons.

Roz Holder of Managing Values, will warm us up with an overview of managing ethics in the workplace before we hear from the real world of complex situations. We will be challenged to consider what we might do in the circumstances and learn how we might go about resolving an ethical dilemma we could well face in the future.
